West Ham are looking to take their solid home form on the road. Adam Bate thinks they can score but won't have it all their own way against Chris Hughton's Canaries
The Hammers were far too strong for their west London opponents – first to every ball and committed throughout. It was Allardyce’s robust style at its very best.
Against a Norwich side that remains winless under Chris Hughton, West Ham can be backed at 2/1 (3.00) with Bet365 to make it three wins from four games on their Premier League return.
But the concern for Hammers fans will be that both of their wins this season came at home, while on their travels they were embarrassed by Swansea.
It may be that West Ham struggle to impose their will away from home and while the Canaries are without a win they were a little unfortunate to only draw against both QPR and Tottenham.
With Andy Carroll injured, Allardyce may be forced to go with a similar side to the one played off the park by the Swans. With that in mind, Norwich can be backed at 11/8 (2.38) with Bet365.
The draw is available at 23/10 (3.30) and with Hughton’s men having drawn two of their three games 1-1 that particular scoreline may be of interest at 5/1 (6.00) with Bet365.
In the goalscorers market, Norwich target-man Grant Holt is the favourite to net first at 5/1 (6.00) with Bet365.
But the more intriguing bet is to back Kevin Nolan to be on the scoresheet. The Hammers skipper has scored 45 goals since the summer of 2009 at a rate of better than one in three.
That makes the 3/1 (4.00) with Bet365 for Nolan to net at anytime a good value bet, especially against a side like Norwich when he can expect to be looking to feed off Carlton Cole’s knockdowns.
But for the pick of the bets in this one it has to be backing both teams to score. Norwich managed just three clean sheets last season and are yet to shut a team out four games into this campaign.
West Ham should score but cannot be relied upon to keep the opposition out at the other end. Back both teams to net at 4/6 (1.67) with Bet365.
