A poor performance from the goalkeeper, who was unable to stop the flow of goals in the second half after a comfortable start earlier on. Questionable goalkeeping where all three strikes are concerned.
The defender failed to replicate his initial performance, and was largely a spectator, easily beaten for pace. Poor in possession, he was bossed around by the opposition with ease.
Out of position in most occasions, he was easily beaten by the strength of the Swede, and the pace of Gameiro. A disappointing performance from the defender.
A. Le Lan
A decent performance by the club captain, who marshaled his flank well. Capped off with a consolation penalty against Mamadou Sakho late on.
An efficient outing from the combative midfielder, who was solid on the ball and highlighted great vision in connecting the defence with the attack. Could only test the goalkeeper from shots in the distance, however.
Suffered a collision with Ezequiel Lavezzi in the early stages of the game after a bright start, but that seemed to take it out of him. Erratic at best, he faltered as the game went on. Taken off at half-time.
Initially one of the better Lorient players on the night, Barthelme proved to be a constant threat down the left-wing. Linked up well with Ludovic Giuly, but failed completely to replicate that in the second period, and was largely cast aside.
In his final game of a glittering career, Giuly put in an energetic performance. Tested Areola on occasions, and was unlucky to score when his rifled effort slammed into the side-netting. Departed for Quercia to a standing ovation.
A positive evening for Fabien Robert, who was at the centre of much of Lorient's attacking ventures. Denied twice by Areola, the second with a beautiful first-time effort. Taken off on the hour for Benjamin Corgnet.
His bursts of pace and trickery brought another dimension to the Lorient attack, and was a source of creativity for the first half. Influence waned as the game progressed.
Making his first Ligue 1 start for the club, the 20-year-old enjoyed a decent performance with a couple of fine saves. Remains to be seen whether he’ll be given more chances next term, and was substituted early into the second half.
G. van der Wiel
An efficient performance from the Dutchman, but this performance reflected largely, his first season in Ligue 1. Didn’t provide any attacking width, and preferred to stay at the back.
Superb outing from the PSG captain, who for once, was deployed in his favoured centre-back role. Didn’t disappoint either, with numerous well-timed tackles in what, unfortunately, is expected to be his last game for the club.
A decent performance from the veteran centre-back, but largely saved by the competence of his partner this evening. Likely to stay at PSG next campaign, even if it is a bit-part role.
The Ivorian international was again handed a rare start at left-back, and for all his efforts, he was kept busy by the likes of Maxime Barthelme and Kevin Monnet-Paquet but managed to stifle the attacking threat provided by the duo.
Chantome asserted his authority well over the midfield, linking well with his team-mates, and not afraid to get stuck in with a series of tackles. Sometimes a little wayward on the ball, but on the whole, a competent evening.
Once again, Verratti highlighted his worth to the Ligue 1 champions with another masterful display in midfield. His passing range constantly bamboozled the hosts, with a highlight, a fabulous backheel towards Javier Pastore in the first half.
A performance not like his usual self, Matuidi was largely error-prone and invisible, a stark contrast to the fantastic season he’s had for the capital club. Out of character, and out of form in this game.
Like Matuidi, the Argentine was distinctly lethargic in this encounter, and devoid of creativity. Unable to seek out chances, the few that he did create, were met with poor decision making and profligate finishing.
The Argentine only lasted 16 minutes on the field after an aerial collision with Mario Lemina. Substituted for Kevin Gameiro.
The Sweden international shrugged off a turgid first half performance to ignite PSG’s revival in the second, with a well-taken goal – his 30th of the season, and the equaling of a 30-year-old league record. Provided an assist for Gameiro too.
R. Le Crom
Disappointing evening for the fourth-choice goalkeeper. On for Areola, and despite an initial fantastic save, he was sent off for a stupid challenge on Quercia, leaving PSG without a goalkeeper.
The centre-back was thrown on as a result of Le Crom’s red card, and deputized as a goalkeeper, but unable to keep out Le Lan’s penalty in comical scenes.
The star of the evening, Gameiro came off the bench early on for Lavezzi, and instantly made an impact with a superb performance. Likely to quit the Parc des Princes this summer, he bagged two goals – the second, a fine powerful volley, whilst also setting up Ibrahimovic with a beautiful assist.
