Both Gor Mahia and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways after their recent defeats in Kenyan Premier League.

The two sides battle it out at Kasarani on Saturday with an eye on all three points. Between the two sides, Gor Mahia will be the side under more pressure as they seek to extend their lead at the top of the log.

Sunday’s loss to arch-rivals AFC Leopards’ cut their lead to two points at the top and will be seeking to extend it to five. For goals, Gor Mahia coach Bobby Williamson will look up to Dan Sserunkuma and Rama Salim.

Both have enjoyed a great partnership previously that has always resulted in goals for the Kenyan champions.

The tax men are enjoying a great time in KPL as new comers and are capable of spoiling the party for Gor Mahia. Towering Liberian striker Roosevelt Blatty carries KRA’s hopes in this match. They also have influential midfielder Godfrey Kataka, who is arguably one the league’s top ball holders.

KRA coach Ken Kenyatta is confident they will cruise past K’Ogalo. “We are not intimidated at all. Gor Mahia is just a team like ours and whoever is lucky on Saturday will win the match.

Kenyatta does not think that the green army will make any difference to help Gor Mahia. “My fans are used to playing in any condition whether we have fans or not. For us it does not matter and we are ready for Gor Mahia.”

  • KRA are making their first appearance in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after being promoted at the beginning of this season.

  • KRA midfielder Ivan Anguyo is a former Gor Mahia player.

  • KRA coach Ken Kenyatta is a former Kenyan international.

  • Gor Mahiawere recently handed a Sh118million tax demand by KRA, who sponsors the Premier League team.

  • Gor Mahia are yet to lose two matches in a row so far in the KPL.

  • This is the first time that Gor Mahia are playing their KPL match at Kasarani.
