AFC Leopards' will be without influential defenders Anthony Kimani and Jackson Saleh when they take on arch-rivals Gor Mahia in Sunday's Kenyan Premier League derby at Kasarani.

Kimani has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a nagging knee problem while Saleh has a sprained ligament on his knee.

Leopards are however, happy to have striker Michael Khamati back in the team after he recovered from a knee injury and resumed training a few days ago.

Khamati is one of the options coach Luc Eymael will be relying on for goals. Despite coming in from the lower league, Khamati has proved his reliability and can combine with any of the top strikers in the team like Allan Wanga and Noah Wafula.

The fifth placed Leopards will be out to revenge the 1-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of K'Ogalo in the first leg played last March at Nyayo Stadium.

Indeed going into this fixture, Gor Mahia have an edge owing to their performance in the last three matches. Gor Mahia have won twice while the third has ended in a draw. Apart from winning in March, Gor also won the first leg last year while the two teams drew 0-0 in the second leg last season.

Gor Mahia will welcome back striker Dan Sserunkuma after his failed bid to move to Europe. The Ugandan import holds the distinction of having scored against Leopards’ in every match he has played against them.
