Goal previews the latest encounter at the CHAN between the competition's finalists from 2009
Ghana's local Black Stars take on Congo DR on Sunday in one of four quarter-final matches at the ongoing African Nations Championships in South Africa.
The two nations contested the finale of the competition's maiden edition, hosted by Cote D'Ivoire in 2009, with the Leopards running out comfortable 2-0 winners and the central Africans would seek to draw some inspiration from that bit of favourable history.
Earlier in that tournament, Ghana had beaten Congo 3-0, implying tomorrow's meeting between the pair would be their third at this level.
On current form, though, Ghana seem slightly capable of overpowering their opponents.
Both teams scored thrice in the group rounds, but Ghana conceded just a goal - one less than the Congolese, in fact - en route to topping Group C with two wins and a draw.
Congo, in Group D, only finished as runner-up to Gabon on six points but do seem strong enough to obstruct Maxwell Konadu's Ghana, a team dominated by players from domestic league champions Asante Kotoko.
With both countries clearly aiming for the title and players on either side boosted by the added impetus of potentially swaying the attentions of watchful scouts from Europe, a great show is set to be served at the Free State Stadium, Mangaung, when Ghana and Congo DR clash.
