Full time in Nurnberg. A double from Marco Reus and goals from Mario Gotze and Ilkay Gundogan give Germany a professional 4-1 victory over Group C minnows, Kazakhstan. The visitors battles well at times but the class of Joachim Low's men shone through in the end to maintain Germany's unbeaten start to their World Cup qualifying campaign. I'm Martin Macdonald, thank you for joining us on Goal.com! See you next time!
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL FOR GERMANY!! The hosts eventually net in the second period!! Reus teases the defender before quickly switching the ball onto his right foot and whipping a superb strike into the near post!! 4-1! Game over.
Mertesacker clears off the line! Kazakhstan almost ensure a grandstand finish to the match as Schmidtgal latches on to a loose ball on the edge of the area to fire towards the bottom corner, but the Arsenal man is there to make the important block!
Ozil drifts inside to the pocket of space just in front of the Kazakh defence and threads a lovely pass through the middle for Gotze but Sidelnikov is off his line quickly to claim the ball at the feet of the Dortmund man. The Kazakh 'keeper has had an impressive game tonight.
Germany are just looking to pick things up in the last few minutes here. Surprisingly though, Joachim Low has not opted to call on his substitutes bench. Fairly odd for an international match.
Germany have really took their foot off the gas in the second half. Against a higher class of opposition they could certainly have been punished here!
Miskick from Reus!! Lahm bursts a gut to get on the end of a crossfield pass and volleys a terrific cross into the box! The Dortmund man meets the ball at the back post but his left-footed strike goes horribly wide!
Kazakhstan hitthe post!! Ohhh how unlucky is that?! Schmidtgal whips in a free kick from the left and Valeri Korobkin turns a lovely left-footed strike towards goal, that just bounces off the outside of the post! Wonderfully inventive attempt!
Last throw of the dice from Kazakhstan coach, Miroslav Beranek. Ulan Konysbayev has come off with Dmitriy Shomko being introduced into the action.
GERMANY HIT THE BAR! THIS IS INCREDIBLE!! Thomas Muller latches on to a pass at the far post and cushions a volley towards goal, that is palmed onto the top of the woodwork by Sidelnikov! He's saved onto the post twice in two minutes!
The Germans hit the post twice is quick succession!!! Muller gets to a deep position and somehow squeezes a shot off the post! The ball breaks to Khedira who guides a strike towards the far corner, but Sidelnikov stretches out a hand to turn it onto the woodwork!!
This time is Kazakhstan's turn to threaten from a corner kick. Schmidtgal whips it in to the front post but Khedira commandingly clears to the edge. The ball comes back in but this time Boateng gets the ball to safety.
Almost wonderful again from the hosts!!! Reus drives forward and again exchanges a superb one-two with Gotze on the edge of the box but his return inside is just underhit and Kazakhstan manage to clear! Final ball just lacking there!
Germany threaten once again from a set-piece. Mesut Ozil sends in another whipped corner kick and this time Jerome Boateng beats everyone in the air to loop a header at goal, but again it goes wide.
3-1 isn't exactly a flattering scoreline to Germany here. The gulf in class is not represented by the score and the home fans will be demanding a few more goals.
Schmelzer goes close!!! The Dortmund left-back stretches his legs down the left and eventually bursts into the box before driving a shot towards the far corner, but it just takes a lick of paint off the post!
Kazakhstan make their second change of the match. Sergei Ostapenko is withdrawn for Zhambyl Kukeev.
Good covering from Aleksandr Kirov. Marco Reus goes on a signature run into the box and dances by a few challenges but his flicked pass inside is well cut out by the Kazakh, who thumps the ball away.

Jerome Boateng decided he has a solution to this problem and has a crack from 30 yards out. It was pretty well-struck, but is dragged wide of Andrei Sidelnikov's post.
To be fair to Kazakhstan, they have defended pretty well in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Any time Reus, Ozil, Muller, or Gotze receive the ball they are faced with a sea of blue shirts in the opposition box. It's proving pretty tough to break down at the moment.
Germany have not been as assured as they were in the first half so far this period. Kazakhstan just broke down the right-hand side and got a dangerous ball into the box, and Lahm rather rashly cleared the ball into the stand.
Kazakhstan did indeed make a change at half time. Kairat Nurdauletov came off for Baurzhan Dzholchiev. The substitute is sporting a rather dashing mullet tonight, an ode to the 80s!
REUS!! Ozil clips in a corner kick and Boateng glances a header towards goal. The ball is cleared to the edge of the box on the left-hand side and the Dortmund man drives a speculative effort at goal that whistles over the bar.
Unbelievable start to the second half here. The Germans will be looking to quickly bounce back from that.
GOOOOOOAAAAAAL FOR KAZAKHSTAN!! WHAT IS MANUEL NEUER DOING?!!! Mertesacker plays the ball back to his goalkeeper who, for some reason, decides to try and dribble out of goal! The Kazakhs intercept and Heinrich Schmidtgal runs in to smash home! 3-1! A famous goal for the visitors!
The second half is under way in Nurnberg!
Half time in Nurnberg. Strikes from Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, and Ilkay Gundogan give Germany a comfortable 3-0 lead over Kazakhstan at the break. The hosts have flexed their muscles and have totally outclassed their opponents so far. The final score may depend on how much they are up for it the second half. Join us in 15 minutes for the remainder of the match!
Impressive half from the Germans. Doubt they'll get another one in before half time!
A small break in play at the moment as Kairat Nurdauletov is currently down. The Kazakhstan captain took a sore one on the ankle from Sami Khedira and is taking a few moments to recover. It looks like he'll be fine.
GUNDOGAN!!! He's not shy to have a shot is he?! This time the Dortmund midfielder teases the Kazakh defence with a few faked shots before eventually whipping a strike towards the top right corner, but it goes inches over the bar! So unlucky!
Good defending from Mukhtar Mukhtarov. Reus and Gotze link-up wonderfully with incisive passing inside the box and the fall comes to the former who looks to send a cross along the six yard box, but the Kazakh defender comes in with an important block at the front post.
Kazakhstan have reverted to their 4-2-3-1 despite the scoreline. It looks like a case of damage limitations for them, but it doesn't really look likely. The Nationalelf look in the mood.
Fair play to the Kazakhs, they are lacking any commitment or desire, but have just been vastly outclassed so far.
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAL FOR GERMANY!!! LONG NIGHT INDEED!! Ozil is one again at the heart! The Real Madrid man twists and turns on the right flanks before curling a cross into the six yard box for Gundogan, who outmuscles the Kazakh defender to force the ball home! 3-0! The hosts are absolutely cruising!
Germany's clean sheet in Astana on Friday evening was only their second in a competitive match since the 1-0 win over Portugal in their opening game of Euro 2012. You get the feeling they may get another tonight...
The home side are starting to enjoy themselves on the ball now. Reus, Ozil, Gotze and Muller are all pulling out the party tricks. This will be a long, long night for Kazakhstan!
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAL FOR GERMANY!! They double their lead!! Lahm goes on a marauding run down the right-hand side and evades three challenges before bursting to the byline and reversing a cross to the front post, where Gotze gets in front of his marker to stab home! 2-0!
That was certainly coming. What do Kazakhstan do now? Do they still aim to keep it tight or open up to try and find a goal? Either way it's a massive mountain to climb now.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL FOR GERMANY!!! And they have the opener!! Ozil neatly slips the ball inside the box to Reus who spins to the outside the box, feigns to shoot, and lashes a strike into the bottom left corner! 1-0!!
The Germans are really probing for the opener here!
GUNDOGAN!!! OHHH HOW UNLUCKY IS THAT?! The Dortmund midfielder gets on the end of a Lahm cross stood up towards the edge of the box and cracks a superb right-footed volley off the inside of the post! What a screamer that would have been!
Kazakhstan survive again!!! Reus displays his incredible pace to get the better of Kirow down the left and smash a cross along the box, but Gorman is in the right place at the right time to volley the ball to safety up the park.
And he's called into action again!! Khedira receives the pass to feet and gallops forward a few yards before lashing a wicked strike at goal, but the Kazakh 'keeper got his body behind the ball and eventually claimed. Not the most convincing from the man between the sticks but he got the job done!
Good goalkeeping from Kazakh stopper, Andrei Sidelnikov. The Aktobe displayed good instincts to pounce on the ball after Mario Gotze had got i behind the defence and fizzed a pass along the six yard box.
A noticeable aspect of Germany's play so far has been their relentless pressing of the ball high up the park. Ostapenko up front for the Kazakhs has barely seen the ball as his team-mates at the back are just pumping up high balls.
Germany reply with a chance of their own!! Ozil cuts inside once again and lays the ball into the path of Gundogan, who bends a strike round the defender towards the bottom corner, only to see his attempt go just the wrong side of the post!
SERGEI OSTAPENKO!! The Kazakh rises high and glances a header just wide of the post! What a story that would have been for him!
However, Kazakhstan win the first corner of the game! Heinrich Schmidtgal shows strength and determination to cut in from the left wing and earn the set-piece out of Mertesacker. Let's see what they can make of this!
Perhaps as expected, it has been all Germany so far. The hosts have asserted their domination in midfield and are already looking pretty dangerous. Khedira and Gundogan are bossing the midfield.
Great challenge from Dmitridenko! Ozil picks up the ball just on the edge of the area and looks to exchange a neat-one two with Sami Khedira. The Madrid man bursts into the box but is dispossessed by the Kazakh before he could pull the trigger.
We are only a minute into the game and already you can tell that the Germans are in the mood tonight! Some terrific interplay from Ozil, Reus, and Gotze almost creates an opening but Kazakhstan scramble clear.
We are under way in Nurnberg!
Surely the aim for Kazakhstan here is simply to not get a real drubbing from this impressive German side! It may be a long 90 minutes for the visitors!
The national anthems sound out in the packed stadium, and we are only a few moments away from kick-off now!
This match comes on the two-year anniversary of Kazakhstan's last trip to Germany. They lost 4-0 in Kaiserslautern.
Gotze flourished in the 'False 9' position for Joachim Low's outfit on Friday. Will he enjoy similar success tonight?
Kazakhstan (4-2-3-1): Sidelnikow; Kirow, Mukhtarow, Gorman, Nurdauletov; Konysbayev, Dmitrenko; Engel, Korobkin, Schmidtgal; Ostrapenko.
Germany (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Mertesacker, Schmelzer; Khedira, Gundogan; Muller, Ozil, Reus; Gotze
Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mario Gotze, and Thomas Muller were all on target to secure the win in Astana.
The Germans successfully dispatched of Kazakhstan on Friday evening with a comfortable 3-0 away victory, and they go into this match as overwhelming favourites, and as Group C leaders.
I'm Martin Macdonald, and I'll be taking you through the action this evening!
