Live Commentary

  • That's it from me, Miles Chambers, but be sure to get in touch on Twitter (@Miles_Chambers) to share your thoughts on yet another Bayern victory. Stick around on Goal for the reaction to Heynckes' final home match and all the rest in footballing action this weekend!
  • Full-time! There is no stoppage-time at the Allianz Arena and Heynckes's final home game was rewarded with a trademark Bayern Munich performance in the second half after valiant defensive work in the first 45 minutes kept Augsburg in the game. Goals from Thomas Muller, Xherdan Shaqiri and Luiz Gustavo continued the trend of Bayern rampaging over every team at home left, right and centre to leave the final score 3-0 in this Bavarian derby.
  • 89'
Can Bayern grab a third or Augsburg grab a consolation? Probably not, is my prediction.
  • 87'
    Assist Franck Ribéry
  • 87'
    Goal Luiz Gustavo
GOAL! There's Heynckes' side's third strike! Luiz Gustavo slides in from inside the area after a well-worked team move in the build-up. Lovely stuff all round, basically. Bayern Munich 3-0 Augsburg!
  • 86'
Bayern might be two goals ahead but they're still pressing forwards with intent, which is impressive considering they're only playing for pride.
  • 84'
Bayern's home fans are in full song as they celebrate their side having barraged down the hatches of Augsburg's defence. Just over five minutes until the 90 minutes runs its course and not much longer than that until Heynckes final game at the Allianz Arena comes to a close.
  • 82'
    SubstitutionThomas Müller Luiz Gustavo
  • 82'
    Assist Franck Ribéry
  • 82'
    Goal Xherdan Shaqiri
GOAL! Counterattacking at its very finest, from the hosts. Schweinsteiger is penalised for a clumsy tackle 40 yards out but Bayern clear the free kick with ease. Shaqiri then dribbles it with finesse and confidence into the box, Robben uses fine close-control then taps back across goal to allow Shaqiri to turn and nudge into the bottom left-hand corner. Bayern Munich 2-0 Augsburg!
  • 80'
Ribery has been so dangerous today that he deserves a moment of madness! The French winger passes to his left without looking, assuming that a Bayern player would run on to collect the ball, but there's not a fellow red shirt in sight and Augsburg players swarm around the ball.
  • 79'
    SubstitutionTobias Werner Torsten Oehrl
  • 79'
Poor Augsburg. Ten minutes ago everything was looking rosy for the visitors and relegation not so certain. But defeat here will pile the pressure on to their final game of the season, where they will probably need to better Dusseldorf's result to avoid the relegation play-off.
  • 77'
Gomez hammers an effort towards goal from outside the area but it flies a foot over the crossbar. He put all his weight behind that shot, though, it flew forwards!
  • 76'
Hahn makes Neuer dive to his left with a header from eight yards out but the Germany international makes it look easy to keep his sheet clean.
  • 74'
The hosts have eased off the gas and are clearly going to cruise towards the 90-minute mark.
  • 72'
Muller is strutting about the Allianz Arena with a grin on his face after grabbing that goal. He's been so quiet all game but that header shows that all a world class player like him needs is a single chance.
  • 70'
    SubstitutionArjen Robben Xherdan Shaqiri
  • 70'
    SubstitutionMario Mandzukic M. Gómez
  • 70'
Mario Gomez comes off the bench along with Xherdan Shaqiri for Mandzukic and Robben, who get to take a breather with 20 minutes to play.
  • 69'
    Assist Dante
  • 69'
    Goal Thomas Müller
GOAL! Bayern Munich take the lead! Well, just as I started to think Augsburg might hold on, Dante whips a terrific cross in with his left peg and Muller jumps high to convert with his head. Bayern 1-0 Augsburg!
  • 67'
Heynckes will be keen to grab a victory on his final home game as Bayern boss, though beyond sentimental value, a victory wouldn't change anything at the top of the table.
  • 66'
Two thirds of this match has now passed and still no real sign of Bayern breaking the stalemate.
  • 65'
    SubstitutionJan Moravek Koo Ja-Cheol
  • 64'
Augsburg's travelling fans roar with delight as they hear the news that Dusseldorf are losing against Nurnberg, which means that - if they can bag a point here today - the visitors to Allianz Arena will exit the relegation zone for the first time since late summer!
  • 63'
Bayern are back at the other end pressing once again but Muller - who has been quiet so far today - is offside during a tight passing move.
  • 61'
A fantastic slide from Lahm which ensures that Hahn's enterprising run from the left wing comes to nought but a Bayern goal kick.
  • 60'
Klavan saves the day for Augsburg this time - as Schweinsteiger's beautiful cross looks set to fall on to Mandzukic's head, the defender leaps to head the ball behind for a corner to Bayern.
  • 59'
Use your right foot, Robben! The winger is adamant to put the ball on to his left foot as he dribbles towards goal and, less than five yards from the right post, he screws up his attempted chip and it bobbles wide for a goal kick to Augsburg.
  • 57'
Augsburg counterattack with pace down the left but are met with a wall of bodies in the centre, and a clumsy challenge for Hahn ensures that possession goes back into die Roten's hands.
  • 56'
    SubstitutionSascha Mölders Kevin Vogt
  • 55'
CROSSBAR! And it's Augsburg who are unfortunate not to be ahead, though what a bizarre moment! Martinez's slide tackle caused Ji's shot to deflect with a loop and the ball crashed down on to the top of the woodwork then behind for a corner!
  • 54'
Another instance of Ribery sliding a low cross in from the left but there being no body to connect with the free ball, as Mandzukic tries to slide to hit it forwards in vain.
  • 53'
Bayern are trying to probe down the right flank but Schweinsteiger is hustled off the ball by Movarek fairly.
  • 52'
A poorly-struck free kick from 45 yards by Werner hits the first Bayern head that the ball passes, allowing Bayern to break up the momentum that the visitors are trying to build.
  • 51'
Augsburg might be flirting with relegation this season but they can be proud of their efforts in that first half. In the last seven games, Bayern have been winning in six of their last seven home matches in the Bundesliga.
  • 50'
A great chance for Augsburg! Great work, fine dribbling and a pinpoint cross from the right by Hahn, but Werner's volley cannons off the ground in front of him and bounces over the bar, allowing home fans to breathe a sigh of relief.
  • 48'
Schweinsteiger goes within an inch or two of putting Bayern Munich into the lead! It looks like the German midfielder had nestled that free kick in the back of the net - and most of the crowd thought it was in - but in reality it skimmed the post and it's an Augsburg goal kick.
  • 47'
Martinez goes down just off the edge of the box and Ribery and Schweinsteiger debate who will get to lash an effort on goal from 22 yards.
  • 46'
And the referee blows his whistle to restart the action in Bavaria!
  • The players are back out at the ground where last season's Champions League final was held. Wil the Allianz Arena hold a bit more happiness for Heynckes this afternoon than it did on that night against Chelsea? (Admittedly, the stakes are a lot lower!)
  • Papiss Femi ‏(@abejide001) believes Bayern will eventually triumph 2-0 over Augsburg. A reasonable prediction, I think, considering the danger that the hosts have posed balanced with the defensive sturdiness that they have been met with.
  • Will Bayern be stoppd from scoring in the Bundesliga for the first time this season? Or is it only a matter of time before Augsburg cave in and the goals start trickling in at Heynckes farewell bash at the Allianz Arena? Let me know by tweeting @Miles_Chambers during the half-time break!
  • Half-time! Bayern Munich have been pressing and probing and occasionally penetrating but their superiority has not been converted into goals, as Augsburg show remarkable resilience to cling to a clean sheet at the 45-minute mark.
  • 45'
...But it's too heavy a cross and Neuer dips down to dive on to the loose ball before hoofing clear.
  • 44'
A late free kick from 40 yards for Augsburg...
  • 42'
Bayern are lefting wanting again! Ribery has been given plenty of joy down the left and he finds space once again and whips a cross along the ground diagonally backwards but nobody is there for Bayern to convert with a shot. At this rate it will be 0-0 at half-time.
  • 41'
Robben is pulled up correctly this time for a mistimed foul on Andre Hahn, who makes a meal of it regardless on Augsburg's right wing.
  • 39'
Robben is fuming like a kettle reaching boiling point after being incorrectly pulled up for a foul, when he evidently got the ball. The Dutch winger's toys are launched out of the proverbial pram, which goes to show how much frustration is bubbling away within the home ranks right now.
  • 38'
A fair few German football league executives looking a bit bored in the stands! This game still has life in it yet, although Bayern seem only intermittently intent on attacking.
  • 36'
Manninger collides with his own defender - Ragnar Klavan - inside the area and play is halted as he receives treatment for the clattering.
  • 35'
Chance for Ribery! The mercurial Frenchman does one turn too many inside the box and, by the time he shoots - there's too many bodies in his way and his attempt is easily blocked by the first body the ball passes.
  • 34'
Nice work on the right betwen Lahm, Mandzukic and Robben but it comes to nothing after the ball is switched and Ribery's whipped ball inside the box on the left is cleared with ease.
  • 32'
    Yellow Card Jan Moravek
  • 32'
Jan Moravek has the 'honour' of picking up the first booking of the game for cuddling Martinez at pace unnecessarily, making him tumble to the grass.
  • 31'
Augsburg defender Reinhardt is hauled down from behind by Ribery and it's a deserved free kick to the visitors midway inside their own half.
  • 29'
Dong-Won Ji goes down with alarming ease inside the Bayern Munich box and the referee rightly waves away half-hearted protests from travelling supporters. There was slight contact but not enough to ever merit a penalty. Just because there's contact, doesn't mean it's a spot kick - imagine corners if that was the case!
  • 28'
Augsburg have their first corner of the match but it's hastily cleared by the hosts. Dante pulls off some outrageous footwork under enormous pressure to draw cheers from the home crowd!
  • 27'
Fire in your predictions on Twitter @Miles_Chambers, I'm keen to hear your final score (and goalscorer) thoughts!
  • 25'
Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund are losing 3-1 against Wolfsburg! They were actually 3-0 down but have pegged a goal back. To be fair, BVB are only playing for pride, with second place assured.
  • 23'
Augsburg continue to defend well on away turf in this all-Bavarian derby. I've yet to glimpse Jupp Heynckes since kick-off - he was weighed under signing autographs when the whistle to begin the match was blown on the sidelines - but I imagine he won't be too bothered with this slow-start-of-sorts.
  • 21'
Dominik Reinhardt semi-clears a corner with his head but Ribery is on hand to shoot from 16 yards...but it flies way, way over. Sighs all around the Allianz Arena.
  • 20'
Bayern are probing and pressing right now but still no breakthrough for the hosts. However, Augsburg need either a miracle or to perform out of their skin to stop the hosts from scoring - they have netted in all 35 games previously in the Bundesliga this season.
  • 18'
POINT-BLANK SAVE! A bullet cross from the left by Ribery, a bullet shot from Mandzukic from five yards but Manninger's face prevents Bayern taking the lead! The Augsburg shot-stopper did not know a lot about that one...
  • 17'
Bayern already have this league trophy in the bag, of course. They'll be getting the shield at the end of this game, actually! But we've got an hour and half to go before all of that.
  • 15'
I tell you what - Augsburg almost take the lead! Slack defending by Bayern almost allows Werner to prod in from 10 yards but Neuer's body blocks his waist-high effort and Bayern quickly clear to avoid any embarrassment.
  • 13'
Commentator's curse of sorts! Tobias Werner fires the visitors' first shot on goal this afternoon though it's straight at Manuel Neuer, who drops down on to his knees to collect the ball which threatens to trickle between his legs before he smothers it with his gloves.
  • 12'
Augsburg, playing all in white, are holding their own so far. They are yet to attack with venom but they are defending stoutly and playing the ball around with panache at times.
  • 11'
Ostrzolek is the heart of action again for Augsburg, this time nodding behind his own goal to prevent Muller turning in at a tight angle on the right post after a dangerous looped cross from Franck Ribery.
  • 10'
...But nothing comes of the set piece which Robben whacks into the wall on the edge of the box.
  • 9'
Bayern veteran Philipp Lahm wins a free kick deep on the right flank after Matthias Ostrzolek appears to handball it...
  • 8'
Bayern forced a second corner with further pressure but Augsburg eventually clear their ranks.
  • 7'
SO CLOSE! What a save from Alex Manninger! A superb ball from the right from Bayern winger Arjen Robben, which loops over the back four of Augsburg and on to the head of Thomas Muller, but the visiting goalkeeper dives to his left to palm it behind for a corner!
  • 5'
Fun fact: if only the second half of the season counted towards the final standings, then Augsburg would be seventh as opposed to 16th!
  • 4'
Sascha Molders does some tidy hold-up play on a chancing counterattack but the number of bodies already behind the ball for Bayern make it impossible for him to run forwards. The striker, instead, passes it backwards and the visitors try to gain some momentum.
  • 3'
The rain is streaming down at the Allianz Arena in this Bavarian derby. The visitors this afternoon are immediately on the back foot, unsurprisingly!
  • 1'
And we're off! Bayern-Augsburg, the penultimate game of both these side's Bundesliga season...
  • Heynckes is handed a bouquet of flowers ahead of his final home game and the crowd cheers applause. He will be standing aside for Pep Guardiola in the summer.
  • The players are out on the pitch and the game is getting ready to begin! You can send in your thoughts and get them fired on to here by tweeting @Miles_Chambers.
  • Bayern fielded a second-string team of sorts in their clash with Borussia Dortmund last weekend, but their team this year is almost their complete first team. The only absentee is Jerome Boateng, who is suspended and replaced by Daniel Van Buyten in the centre of defence. The likes of Mario Mandzukic, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez return after being rested.
  • On the other hand, Augsburg will be out to ruin Heynckes' big day with a point or three to help haul them out of a relegation tussle. The visitors this afternoon currently sit on 30 points with two games to go - level on points with fourth-from-bottom Fortuna Dusseldorf but behind on goal difference, meaning they sit just inside the drop zone with 180 minutes of Bundesliga action to play.
  • The big draw to this match is definitely the fact that this will be Jupp Heynckes last home game as Bayern boss! The coach has done a terrific job this season to get die Roten into a position to win the treble and home fans today will be hoping for a fitting, winning send-off at the Allianz Arena!
  • Augsburg XI: Manninger; Verhaegh, Reinhardt, Klavan, Ostrzolek; Baier; Hahn, Moravek, Ji, Werner; Molders.
  • Bayern Munich XI: Neuer; Lahm, Van Buyten, Dante, Alaba; Martinez, Schweinsteiger; Robben, Muller, Ribery; Mandzukic.
  • Hello, I'm Miles Chambers and welcome to Goal's LIVE coverage of Bayern Munich v Augsburg! The Bundesliga title race might be over but this match has plenty of appeal for the neutral. But before I bombard you with statistics, check out the line-ups!
