Lajong Qualify; Arhima Still In Contention
Shillong Lajong secured their promotion for next season's I-League by beating Mohammedan Sporting 1-0 to finish as second division champions. Another Shillong outfit Arhima kept their qualification hopes alive by recording a 3-0 victory over Southern Samity.

Shillong Unfit As Division II Venue
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) decided to award the hosting rights of the final round of games to Meghalaya Football Association, quite a few teams have gained an undue advantage of getting to play in 'home' conditions. It must be pointed that a couple of clubs had raised this issue prior to the competition's prelimnary rounds kicked-off but the verdict wasn't reviewed.

The Second Division Story
United Sikkim, Southern Samity and Mohammedan SC have already confirmed their slots in the main round of league to be held in Shillong where they will be joined by Sporting Clube de Goa and Shillong Lajong SC who gain a directly entry as they were the relegated teams from I-League last season.

East Bengal Are The Champs
East Bengal have won the Platinum Jubilee Cup 4-3 (3-2 on penalties) by defeating rivals Mohun Bagan at the Salt Lake Stadium this evening. This is the Red and Gold's second truimph of the season afetr having won the Federation Cup as well.
