Stadium: Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata
The Indian Arrows was founded in 2010 by the AIFF with the view to give Indian youngsters a chance to get exposure by playing in the I-league and as part of their vision to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. They were given direct entry into the I-League Division 1 after Mahindra United decided to disband. They played their home games at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi while some games were also held at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon but after entering a 5 year sponsorship deal with the Pailan Group, the team shall shift its base to Kolkata and train at the Pailan World School’s ground in Joka.
In their first season in the I-league, the team initially started gingerly losing its first game to Chirag United 2-1, and they also suffered a battering from East Bengal and Salgaocar, which further raised doubts over their direct promotion to division 1. However they were strong at home and didn’t lose a game at their own turf until Gameweek 23.
Overall the first season was a success for the Indian Arrows, as they finished a creditable ninth on the table.
In their first season in the I-League, Indian Arrows played their home games at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi or at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon. However the club shall have its base at Kolkata next season and their home stadium has not yet been decided upon.
