Players who were good last season but have flopped this year
2. Cesc Fabregas
In his last few years at Arsenal the midfielder had set his mind on a return to his hometown club Barcelona and a move was only a matter of time. Fabregas finally had his way in August, 2012. Unfortunately though, the dream switch has not quite worked out for the Spaniard. In his time with the Gunners, Fabregas was one of the first names on the team sheet and whilst he saw a fair amount of playing time in his first season at Camp Nou, the midfielder has failed to command that kind of preference, especially given Barcelona’s embarrassment of riches in the middle of the park. The playmaker made 48 appearances scoring 15 goals to go with 20 assists in his first season in Spain. But, this term has been a different story, with only 36 appearances, 9 goals and 10 assists. Moreover, Fabregas has found himself on the bench for most of the crucial games in La Liga and Europe this season, meaning that the Spanish ace has cut a frustrated figure during his limited time on the pitch.
