Arsenal's best away performances in the CL
3. Real Madrid 0-1 Arsenal, February 2006
This was a season that Arsenal fans would remember very fondly as they defied the odds to reach the final of the Champions League taking down heavyweights like Real Madrid and Juventus on the way. With an under-strength squad, Arsenal defeated a highly fancied Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu to become the first English team to win there. The Gunners played with a swagger that was missing in their Premier League campaign that year and should have gone into the interval with a healthy lead. The second half saw Arsenal take the lead when Henry made a dazzling run where he shrug off the challenges of four Real defenders before beating Iker Casillas in goal with a smart finish. The win gave this young Arsenal team belief that would carry them in good stead all the way to the final at Paris.
