1. Joe Cole: West Ham United 1998-2003 and 2013 to present
A child prodigy and part of the talented West Ham academy, Joe Cole made his first team debut at the age of just 17 years and was even handed the captain's armband at the age of 22. He was wanted by all of England's biggest clubs as he impressed with his ability to pick out a pass as well as score scorchers from range, also being armed with an incredible acceleration as he could beat defenders at will. However, having signed from Chelsea, injuries certainly hampered his potential and after spells at Liverpool, Lille (loan), Cole was back to West Ham this January.
