2009 FIFA Confederations Cup: Daniel Alves of Brazil takes the freekick from which he scores the winner against South Africa (PA)
Daniel Alves - When he went from Bahia to Sevilla in 2002, few expected he was going to become one of the most successful right-backs in the world. Playing far away from the hype that the Brazilian media gives to the Sao Paulo-Rio axis, Alves didn't attract that much attention from the public, with the exception of Bahia's fans, who already recognised his talent.

The move to Sevilla and his great performances there were enough to make him a regular for Dunga's call-ups and to grant him a move to Barcelona. Alves' quality has made Dunga look for alternatives to put him in the team, even with Maicon assured as the starting right back. At the Selecao, Daniel can play as a right winger or even as a left-back. Just another proof of his worth to the Brazilian team.
