Mariano Andujar - Catania (Grazia Neri)
The life of Mariano Andujar changed completely with his arrival at Estudiantes de La Plata. Here he claimed his first title as a professional, playing alongside Juan Sebastian Veron and under the guidance of Diego Simeone. From the outset the goalkeeper has been known for his good aerial presence, assured clearances and outstanding shot stopping ability.

He was first drafted into the Argentina team to fight for qualification for South Africa 2010 by Alfio Basile. Despite the change of coach and the arrival of Diego Maradona to the bench, Andujar found a place amongst the regulars although after less than convincing performances, the coach decided to opt instead for Sergio Romero.

Did you know?

Mariano Andujar was chosen as first choice goalkeeper for Argentina after the 6-1 defeat they suffered against Bolivia in La Paz for 6-1 and lasted just three games (Colombia, Equator and Brazil) in the first eleven, being a victim of the constant changes of Maradona in the team selection.
