Carlos Tevez set to drop appeal over lost cash as he attempts to repair relationship with Manchester City - report

The Argentine striker is set to bury the hatchet as he returns to the fold at the Etihad Stadium despite desperately seeking a move away from England in January

Carlos Tevez is ready to drop his appeal to the Premier League over the £1.18 million fine he received from Manchester City last year, as prepares to repair his relationship with the club according to the Daily Mail.

The Argentine was ready to leave City in the January transfer window but was unable to secure a move away from the Etihad Stadium despite interest from both Milan clubs.

Tevez initially fell out with boss Roberto Mancini after he allegedly refused to play in the club’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich and then travelled without permission to Argentina.

However, Mancini is now ready to forgive the striker provided he apologises for his actions over the last few months.

Tevez was named in City’s 25-man Premier League squad after the window shut and so would be able to play in their remaining games this season as the club chase the title.

The 28-year-old is expected to return to the club on Tuesday for fitness tests and it is anticipated he will need time to get up to speed having not played for Mancini’s side since September 21.

Tevez has lost an apparent £9 million during his stand-off with City after he was fined six weeks wages in December for gross misconduct and lost a further six weeks wages after the club stopped paying him.

The Argentine also lost his rights to his £6m loyalty bonus.
