Aston Villa have made a bid to acquire the services of Valencia striker Nikola Zigic, according to the club’s sporting director.

The Serbian forward has failed to make an impact at the Mestalla since moving from Racing Santander. New Valencia coach Unai Emery is not thought to be considering utilising the 6ft 7in striker and is open for offers for the player.
Zigic has been an alleged target for Martin O’Neill for quite some time, and is considering the offer to come to the Premier League.
The striker will make a decision later this week, according to Valencia director Juan Sanchez.
He told The Sunday Mirror: "The player and his agent know about the offer and we expect them to make a decision in the coming days."
