The Italian has revealed his past, present and future in his biography, which is titled 'Dico Tutto' - 'I'll Tell Everything'.

The book isn't released until November 19 but 'Libero' has published extracts wherein the striker talks about his life on and off the pitch.

An extract from "Dico Tutto" reads: "Antonio Cassano doesn't like words flying around. If that game between Bari and Inter didn't happen then I would have become a thief or a mugger - a criminal, in any case.

"Many people I knew were recruited into gangs. That game and my talent took me away from a possible life of s***.

"I used to gamble on the streets, 10, 15 or even 20 thousand lire (up to about €3) on the team I used to play for. I wasn't stupid, as I wanted the money and I wanted a percentage too.

"There were usually shootings, police and ambulances. I was poor and I would like to make it clear that I have never worked in my life; it's because I don't know how to do anything.

"I have lived 17 years without any grace and then nine years as a millionaire. There are still eight years to go before it evens out."

Cassano has never been shy about causing major controversy during his career and many will remember his outbursts against Roma and his attempt to fight with a Serie A referee last season.

Cassano will be involved in action when Sampdoria welcome Lecce to Marassi this weekend. The Blucerchiati have been struggling recently and they will need pick up points if they are to challenge for the European places.
