Uefa general secretary Gianni Infantino has called on the Turkish Football Association (TFF) to act swiftly when it comes to punishing anyone found guilty of match-fixing.

A host of clubs in the country, including Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor are due in court in February, charged with influencing a string of matches last season through illegal means.

Infantino believes that if the allegations prove to be true, the TFF must punish any guilty parties decisively.

"I think it is important that the Turkish FA is taking decisions, the right decisions, with regards to this whole match-fixing situation," Infantino told a press conference.

"The disciplinary proceedings from the sporting side, they need to go fast, because it's important that the integrity and regularity of the competition is guaranteed as soon as possible."

The first hearing in the court case is scheduled for February 14.
