The emphasis for the outfield players was moving the ball quickly during their first practice session in Los Cardales, while the goalkeepers trained separately
The Brazil squad undertook their first training session on Wednesday in Argentina ahead of the Copa America. The group only arrived at the team hotel in Los Cardales, late last night, but awoke early and were on the practice pitch 70 minutes later, amid cool temperatures.
Without Elano, Ganso and Neymar, who will represent Santos in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final tonight before joining Mano Menezes' party on Thursday, the remaining 17 outfield players did some fitness work before partaking in a game in which they could only use a maximum of two touches at a time. The exercise lasted around 40 minutes.
Meanwhile, the three goalkeepers – Julio Cesar, Victor and Jefferson – trained together on a separate pitch.
Another Brazilian training session has been arranged for 16:00 local time.
Brazil will kick off their Group B campaign against Venezuela on July 3, before meeting Paraguay on July 9 and Ecuador four days later.
