England Fans Show Their Support For World Cup 2018 Bid With 'Wear Your Shirt To Work Day'
Employees from across the country get involved...
England fans showed their support for the nation's bid to host World Cup 2018 by wearing their football kits to work on Tuesday.
The 'Wear Your Shirt to Work Day' campaign saw people across the country ditch their shirt and tie for their favourite jerseys. The promotion was timed to mark 100 days before the FIFA executive committee decides on the winning bid to host the tournament.
An inspection team from the organising body are currently touring the country to view the infrastructure. With trips to the north east and Manchester planned after London began the overview, the sight of supporters in their favourite shirts would have helped to spread the message.
England face stiff competition from Russia, Belgium and the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain and the United States to win the bidding process. After successfully staging Euro '96, every possible angle is being covered to show the depth of support for the tournament set to be staged in eight years time.
