thumbnail Hello,

Social networking site Facebook is in talks with the FA regarding the possibility of becoming the new sponsors of the England team, according to a report from The Daily Mail.

They are apparently one of four companies pitching for the deal, with former sponsors Nationwide having decided to end their long-standing association with the Three Lions after the World Cup.

The FA are believed to be hopeful that they can double the £20 million deal with Nationwide, and are also reportedly in talks with phone giants O2 and Orange, as well as Spanish bank Santander.

With England returning to action at Wembley on August 11 against Hungary, tying up a new sponsorship deal is viewed as a matter of some urgency at the FA.
