Ireland’s Marco Tardelli Forgives Thierry Henry; Furious With Raymond Domenech
The Italian has taken a swipe at Domenech, claiming he is not a great coach. However, he has defended Barcelona's Henry...
Ireland assistant coach Marco Tardelli has cast an aspersion on France coach Raymond Domenech in relation to his recent comments regarding the controversial World Cup qualifier.
Tardelli appears to hold no grudges towards Thierry Henry, whose handball influenced the second leg so infamously, but he is unforgiving towards Domenech.
"I am not angry with Henry, as these things happen. He is not a cheat, but a great player who acted instinctively," Tardelli told RMC.
"However, I am furious with Domenech. When I met him at Under-21 level he said Italians bought referees and now he has said, 'When you get a diploma at university, it doesn't matter how you get it.'
"I still don't understand his words. I think Domenech is not at the level to be a great French coach."
