Bayern Munich Star Luca Toni: I’m Done With Louis van Gaal

The 32-year-old has lost patience with the Dutchman and hopes to go back to Italy in January to force his way into Marcello Lippi’s plans...

Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has admitted that his time in Bavaria is drawing to a close after failing to win over Louis van Gaal since the tactician took over at the Allianz Arena last summer.

“It’s been four months that I have had problems with him,” Toni explained to Rai TV.

“Enough is enough. Our rapport is almost non-existent…”

Toni was disciplined by the club board earlier this month, after leaving the Allianz Arena in a huff when he was replaced at half-time during the match with Schalke 04.

Press reports in Italy claim that the towering hitman is desperate to return to the peninsula during the January transfer window to boost his chances of making Marcello Lippi’s Nazionale squad for next summer’s World Cup finals.

Roma captain Francesco Totti has allegedly urged the ex-Fiorentina man to join the Giallorossi, but Toni hints he could remain in Germany if van Gaal is shown the door after a dismal start to the campaign.

“I don’t know about that, but I wish Bayern well,” he mused.

“Sure, I’d like to go back to Italy to score those goals that would bring me back into the national team. After all, I am still the striker who has netted more goals than anyone for the Azzurri.

“Roma? I do have a good relationship with Totti…”
