Totti Won't Score Against Me This Time - Inter Keeper Julio Cesar
Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar talked about being named the best player of the Champions League last 16 stage and next Sunday's Serie A match against Roma.
His brilliant performance against Manchester United confirmed his status as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Inter shot-stopper Julio Cesar talked about being named the best player of the first legs of the Champions League last 16 stage, and about this weekend's big match at home against Roma.
"I was voted best player of the last 16 stage? I'm happy," he told Studio Sport, "I think it's right for the match I played but I would have preferred to play less well and won against Manchester United."
On who he wishes didn't play for Roma between Francesco Totti, his countryman Julio Baptista and Mirko Vucinic, he said: "Certainly Totti, because he always scores against me, but on Sunday he won't score."
Julio Cesar also talked about the many Brazilian goalkeepers who have been doing well in major European leagues, such as his Roma colleague Alexandre Doni.
"There was a time when European clubs only thought about getting strikers or midfielders from Brazil," he continued. "But nowadays many teams want a Brazilian goalkeeper. It's a good thing for us, each year we are opening the doors for other Brazilian keepers."
Inter have a nine-point lead on top of the Serie A table and will want to strengthen their position further against Roma, who are in the hunt for a Champions League spot.
