Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has declared that his side are ready to end Arsenal's Premier League ambitions by beating Arsene Wenger's side at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

The Pensioners sit atop the standings going into the fixture, with the beleaguered north Londoners ten points adrift of top spot.

Successive defeats to Aston Villa and Manchester City have sent the Gunners' title aspirations askew, and the Germany captain is ready to capitalise on the in-house problems at the Emirates.

Ballack believes that should Chelsea open up a 13 point advantage over their rivals, then Arsenal's championship credentials would be blown out of the water.

He is qouted as saying by the Metro: "We are on top of the league and they are ten points behind us and need to win.

"At the moment they are not the strongest team because they have other problems now. It is our intention to beat them.

"A 13 point gap is a lot and we hope we can do this. It will be hard for them.

After missing out on the title last season to Manchester United, Ballack is eager to make amends this time around.

He concluded: "Everyone at Chelsea is focused on this title because we want to bring it back to Stamford Bridge."
