thumbnail Hello,

The 29-year-old has replaced the Atletico striker in the Selecao squad, while Alexandre Pato and Lucas Moura are notable omissions for the friendlies

AC Milan forward Robinho has been drafted into Luiz Felipe Scolari's Brazil squad ahead of friendlies with Honduras and Chile as a replacement for Diego Costa.

The Atletico Madrid hitman, who was initially named in the panel for the forthcoming friendlies, drew a line under his international future earlier this week by declining Scolari's invitation in order to represent Spain.

But the 64-year-old coach has turned his attentions to the former Real Madrid attacker, who has seen his strong form at club level for the Rossoneri this season rewarded with a first call-up to the Selecao since 2011.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has also been given the nod, despite being sidelined since September with a thigh injury, while Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Lucas Moura drops out having struggled to earn a starting berth with the French champions in recent weeks.

Likewise, there is also no room for Corinthians marksman Alexandre Pato, who has failed to retain his selection following the friendlies with South Korea and Zambia in October.

Chelsea attacker Willian could also make his first Selecao appearance in two years having being named in the 22-man squad.

Brazil face Honduras in Miami on November 16, before facing Chile in Toronto two days later as part of Gillette's International Soccer Series, which includes Argentina, Ecuador and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
