Pearce lauds 'fantastic' captain Giggs
Team GB's manager has expressed his delight at the Manchester United legend's influence on the team after the squad joined up for training in Spain
Great Britain coach Stuart Pearce has hailed the influence of his captain Ryan Giggs ahead of the Olympic Games in London, claiming he has the full backing of the squad. The Manchester United legend, who captained Wales between 2004 and 2007, was one of Pearce's three 'over age' picks for London 2012, with former team-mate David Beckham a surprise absentee.
But any reservations about Giggs's inclusion have quickly been dismissed, with Pearce praising the 38-year-old's approach to his fellow team-mates in training.
"He has all the credentials and he's been absolutely fantastic," Pearce told Radio Manchester.

He added: "To know how the players are feeling is very important."
Team GB face Brazil in a warm-up friendly on July 20 at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium before their opening match six days later against Senegal.
