The AC Milan striker is confident that the 19-year-old has the potential to be a great player but stressed that he must be taken care of
The 19-year-old striker has been a key player for the Rotterdam club since joining on loan from Manchester City last summer, scoring 18 goals in 16 Eredivisie matches.
Guidetti is expected to make his debut for the senior Sweden national team, partnering Ibrahimovic up front against Croatia on Wednesday.
The AC Milan striker had some kind words for his compatriot, saying that, although Guidetti still has a lot to learn, he is confident that the teenager has the potential to go far in football.
“We need to treat this talent with great care,” Ibrahimovic told AD Sportwereld. "He is still young, but his actions show that he is already very good.
“Give him time, he has a bright future. Although he will also have to overcome adversity at some point in his career.”
Sweden coach Erik Hamren agreed with the 30-year-old, reiterating that the youngster must be handled carefully.
“We must ensure that we do not immediately impose too much pressure on this 19-year-old boy.” Hamren said.
The international friendly between Croatia and Sweden kicks-off at 20.30 CET.
