Koln coach Stale Solbakken has received some disturbing news from the treatment table in the aftermath of his side's 4-1 Bundesliga loss against Schalke on Saturday, as attacker Lukas Podolski sustained an injury and faces a spell on the sidelines.
The Germany international opened the scoring after four minutes of play, and stayed on the pitch right until the final whistle.
He complained about pain in his left foot after the match, however, and a scan has revealed that he will be out of action for several weeks.
"He will be unavailable for quite a while. He could miss three to four weeks," Solbakken was quoted as saying by Express.
Podolski has been in excellent form in the 2011-12 campaign, and has already netted 15 goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances.
