Bert van Marwijk's men go into Euro 2012 as one of the favourites for the tournament in Ukraine and Poland, and their skipper feels they could beat the leading European clubs
Bert van Marwijk's team are much-fancied favourites to win Euro 2012 after an impressive qualifying campaign, finishing top of Group E with nine wins from ten games.
With the likes of Robin van Persie, Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart in their line-up, the veteran midfielder feels the Oranje would beat the Clasico sides, if the opportunity ever arose.
"I think that this Dutch team, but only at full strength, would beat dominant club teams like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid," the 34-year-old revealed to Voetbal magazine.
Van Bommel was also full of praise for the training methods of the country, and feels that his national team is better prepared than his club side.
"The training methods of the Oranje are better than those of AC Milan," he concluded.
Netherlands have been drawn Group B of Euro 2012 alongside heavyweights Germany and Portugal as well as Denmark.
