Sao Paulo wonderkid Lucas Moura has admitted that he fears losing his place in Mano Menezes' Brazil plans, as he and his Tricolor team-mates continue to underachieve in the 2011 Brasileirao.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has already picked up 10 caps for the national team, and was a part of the Copa America squad that went out to Paraguay in the quarter-finals in July.

Sao Paulo, however, have gone eight domestic games without victory, and as well as slipping down into mid-table in Serie A bombed out of the Copa Sudamericana to Libertad. Lucas let slip his worry that if his form did not pick up, his immediate Selecao future could suffer.

"Of course I am thinking about that because of the club's present, but I am going to continue fighting," the teenager told Lance when asked if he was worried about the national team.

"If I saw the next call-up list and I was not there, I would not give up or let my head drop. I would work to be included on the next list."

Brazil play two friendlies in the next week, against Gabon and Egypt, and Lucas will indeed miss the games as Menezes declined to pick anyone from the domestic league. The youngster understood the decision, but stated that he was raring to get back involved.

"There are two sides to it. It is a shame because you always want to be in the Selecao, to be part of the call-up. On the other hand though, we will have more time with our teams, vital in this last phase of the Brasileiro. So I will sit on the fence," he joked.

Currently seventh in Serie A, Sao Paulo will attempt to return to winning ways this Saturday away to Bahia.
