thumbnail Hello,

The pair are two of five absentees from Argentina's last outing, as the team prepares to begin their sub-continent tour with Friday's test against Venezuela

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Roma's Nicolas Burdisso are among the string of players left out for the first match of Alejandro Sabella's tenure as Argentina coach, as the trainer confirmed a heavily-changed squad for Friday's clash with Venezuela.

The former Estudiantes man confirmed the XI that Goal.com predicted after yesterday's first training session, making a total of five changes from the Albiceleste side that contested the Copa America quarter-final and was eliminated at the hands of Uruguay.

Aguero and Burdisso will start on the bench, while fellow members of that team Javier Zanetti, Fernando Gago and Gabriel Milito failed to make the squad.

Marseille's Lucho Gonzalez, meanwhile, is one of the highest-profile new faces, as he prepares to partner Javier Mascherano and Inter starlet Ricardo Alvarez in a three man midfield. The centre of defence also brings an untested partnership, placing Porto's Nicolas Otamendi alongside Malaga defender Martin Demichelis.
