Australia coach Holger Osieck will have to make do without the services of star player Tim Cahill when they take on European giants Germany in Tuesday evening's international friendly.

The Everton star has been plagued by injury and Osieck has now confirmed that the 31-year-old won't be match fit in time to face the Nationalelf.

Meanwhile, the former Canada boss has added three players to his initial squad for the match against Germany.

Sparta midfielder James Holland will join the Socceroos squad again after last playing against Slovenia in August, while Utrecht midfielder Adam Sarota and Brondby's Brent McGrath get their first call-ups.

Australia and Germany last met at the 2010 World Cup when the Europeans cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win in the group stage.
