Juan Sebastian Veron Admits That Argentina Career Could Be Over
'La Bruja' sees his exit from the squad as proof that his international career is finished - but had warm words for Albiceleste interim Batista...

Estudiantes veteran Juan Sebastian Veron admitted yesterday that his international career was all but over, as interim Argentina coach Sergio Batista looks to build a team for the 2014 World Cup.
Veron, 35, has 73 caps for the Albiceleste and played in three World Cups. Batista however overloooked 'La Bruja' for the upcoming friendly against Spain in favour of younger midfield talents such as Ever Banega; now Seba suggests his time with the Seleccion might be over.
"The truth is that I have never stopped to think about being left out against Spain. My time with the Seleccion has finished and there is no more to it, that is it," the midifelder told Radio del Plata on Thursday evening.
"I think that Batista is trying to put together a team for the next World Cup and I won't be seen. Not for nothing, but from looking at the calendar."
Veron also had kind words to say about 'El Checho' Batista, who is widely tipped to stay in charge of the Albiceleste.
"I have chatted with El Checho several times and it has always been very pleasant. I respect him a lot and it is great that he is now the Argentine coach."
"I believe that he has a big advantage over the other candidates, he knows most of the group well, he is within the Seleccion and that definitely makes a difference."
