James Collins: Wales Will Take Positives From Defeat To Sweden
Captain believes his weakened side can take credit for good first half...
By Michael Landon
The Welsh side on display was a weakened one, with Toshack unable to call on star players such as Craig Bellamy and recently injured Aaron Ramsey.
Despite the defeat, Wales captain James Collins believes a lot of positives can be taken from the game.
"I think we can take a lot of positives from the first half. We kept the ball well and the manager encourages us to do that. We're a bit disappointed we didn't create many clear cut chances, but like I said earlier on, we will take some positives out of here and look forward to the qualifiers," Collins told BBC Sport after the game.
It appeared as though the home side were edging the encounter until Sweden scored late in the first half and Collins was disappointed in the manner in which his side conceeded.
He said: "It's always disappointing conceding goals and I thought we were doing well up until then. They didn't have too many clear-cut chances and it [the goal] has taken a deflection and gone over the keepers' head.
"We'll look at it and try and take as many positives out of it as we can."
