Players who donned the Adidas Nitrocharge Pro

With the release of the German giant's new range of boots, Goal lists out some of the who's who of world football who have donned the Nitrocharge....

Following our look at the three figureheads of the Adidas Nitrocharge Pro campaign in Bayern Munich’s Javi Martinez, AS Roma’s Daniele De Rossi and Barcelona’s Dani Alves, Goal continues the series by casting an eye over some of the other stars to have adopted the newly-launched boots.

Xabi Alonso

The boots are ideally suited to the seasoned Spanish playmaker, designed as they are for ‘the engine’ player of a team. With his wide range of passing and near flawless distribution, the ex-Liverpool man has become an integral part of the Los Blancos squad. These very abilities have led many to rightly term the Spanish international as ‘the conductor of the orchestra’ at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Alonso was one among a few players to have held their own in what was an utterly disappointing campaign for Madrid keeping the side together with noteworthy contributions in both attack and defence. With his extensive pitch coverage and tireless running throughout the 90 minutes, the midfielder embodies all the attributes of an ideal ‘engine’ player and he will be hoping the Adidas Nitrocharge Pro can help him elevate his game to a different level as he seeks to spearhead a successful season under new boss Carlo Ancelotti.

David Silva

The ex-Valencia ace is among a clutch of players who have recently switched to these boots and perhaps not surprisingly so. Since his move to The Etihad, the Spaniard has quickly emerged as the creative fulcrum for the Citizens.

Silva looks to revive his old self with the Nitrocharge Pro

Silva’s dip in form last tem coincided with a major slide in City’s fortunes, further emphasizing his importance to the side and the fleet-footed attacker will be looking to re-discover his old self with Adidas’ new boots as the Citizens prepare to commence a new era under Manuel Pellegrini.

Jack Rodwell

The Englishman is understood to be one of the first among his compatriots to have donned the boots. The youngster has failed to command a first team spot since his move to Manchester, but if his days at Everton are anything to go by the new boots should easily conform to his style of play.

A strong, busy player who likes to be in the thick of the action both with and without the ball, the midfielder has all the credentials to be defined as ‘the engine’ and the Nitrocharge Pro could just be the thing to help provide a new lease of life to his career.

Neven Subotic

The Serbian centre-back became probably the first defender to have donned the Adidas Nitrocharge Pro when he used the boots during Dortmund’s recent Champions League Final defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Subotic had a stellar campaign with Dortmund

As an imposing defender the choice of footwear in indeed a wise one for the Dortmund man. The new boots possess an Energy pulse feature that will aid running and jumping, two important attributes in his role.

Subotic played a starring role in his side’s European campaign last season and the new boots are sure to enhance his development as one of the most reliable defenders.

Ezequiel Lavezzi

Among the many star names the PSG forward’s performances last term went a bit under the radar, but nevertheless he was an integral part of the Parisians’ title winning outfit. Lavezzi was an ever-present for PSG in his first season at Parc des Princes since joining from Napoli.

His energy and dynamism are a particular feature of the Argentine’s style of play and mean that he presents a potent threat on the wings, whilst he is also adept at putting the foot in to win the ball back. An in-form Lavezzi provides a unique balance to his side and he will be counting on the Nitrocharge Pro to take his game to the next level in the new season.
