Report: Aston Villa Send Scouts To Watch Sporting Lisbon's Miguel Veloso
Martin O'Neill is seeking to steal a march on his rivals by sending his scouts to check in on the young midfielder...
Aston Villa are edging closer to a move for Miguel Veloso, as manager Martin O'Neill has dispatched scouts to watch the Portuguese up-and-comer in action.
Veloso is seeking a move away from Sporting Lisbon, and is being tracked by clubs all over Europe.
According to Sky Sports, Villa sent scouts to take in Sporting's 1-0 friendly loss to Nottingham Forest.
Veloso was valued at around €14 million during January, a fee which put a lot of clubs off. However, given Veloso's reluctance to stay at Sporting, the fee is expected to be lowered this time around.
Arsenal, Bolton Wanderers, Manchester United and Everton have all been linked with Veloso in recent times.
