Sergio Busquets is confident that Real Madrid's players in the Spain side will not hold back when they face their colleague Cristiano Ronaldo in the semi-final showdown with Portugal at Euro 2012.
After beating France 2-0 in the last eight on Saturday, the title holders are set to take on a side whose last three goals came from the Madrid attacker, first in the group stage against Netherlands where he scored a brace, then in the dying minutes of the quarter-final against the Czech Republic.
Barcelona midfielder Busquets dismissed the notion that the likes of Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso may be tempted to go soft on their club team-mate to avoid injuring him.
"If the Real players are told to go strong into a challenge on Ronaldo, they will go strong," Busquets was quoted as saying by O Jogo. "These aren't club clashes but national team clashes. It is a different story altogether."
Busquets also warned that La Roja must not focus solely on the Madrid forward.
"This semi-final will not be played against Ronaldo but against Portugal," Busquets said.
The clash will kick off on Wednesday, June 27, at 20:45CET.
