Problems continue to mount for the Greeks after it was announced the PAOK player picked up a knock in training and will not face the Czechs, along with two defenders
A scan on Sunday revealed the 30-year-old midfielder suffered a rupture in his right thigh during a training session, and it is not yet clear whether he will recover in time to play any further part in the tournament.
The Greeks drew 1-1 with Poland in the opening game of Euro 2012 and had Sokratis Papastathopoulos harshly sent off before Avraam Papadopoulos was forced to leave the field on a stretcher.
It was claimed that Santos wanted Kostas Katsouranis to move back into the heart of the defence, with Fotakis the most likely reinforcement in central midfield.
But it now appears the Portuguese coach will have to do yet more reshuffling of personnel ahead of Tuesday's encounter with Michal Bilek's troops.
