Iniesta: Euro 2012 will be harder than World Cup 2010

The Barcelona man believes that the upcoming competition will be extremely difficult for his national side, but states that they are ready to travel to Poland and Ukraine

Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta is of the opinion that winning Euro 2012 will be the toughest task his side have had.

La Roja are highly favoured for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine after winning Euro 2008 and World Cup 2010, but Iniesta alerted his side that they will have to step up a notch to come out on top this time around.

"Everything that is in the past is always easier than what is to come," Iniesta told reporters at a promotional event.

"These Euros will be much harder than the World Cup we won. This team is ready. I like to live in the present, [and consider] what lies ahead.

"We have a very beautiful challenge ahead which will be a lot tougher than the previous one."

Spain begin their Euro campaign against Italy on June 10 before taking on Republic of Ireland and Croatia.

Prior to the start of the tournament, Vicente del Bosque's men will still play one more friendly match, against China on Sunday.
