Netherlands legend Patrick Kluivert has stated his belief that Twente forward Luuk de Jong will go on to be his country's first-choice striker in years to come.
De Jong has already made inroads into Bert van Marwijk's national set-up, and Kluivert says the 21-year-old is on his way to becoming a big success.
"He's getting the perfect guidance to develop into a real star in Europe at Twente," Kluivert told Nusport.nl.
"I consider him to be the future No. 9 of the Dutch national side."
De Jong has been linked with a move to the Premier League with clubs such as Liverpool and Newcastle United believed to be in the hunt for his signature. The youngster has also revealed that he is open to a switch to England's top flight.
Kluivert, currently on the coaching staff at De Grolsch Veste, is the Netherlands' all-time top scorer, with 40 goals in 79 caps.
