Leave Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli To Work - FIGC President Giancarlo Abete
Giancarlo Abete believes patience is the key to reshaping Cesare Prandelli's Italy.
By Salvatore Landolina
FIGC president Giancarlo Abete has analysed Cesare Prandelli's work ahead of Italy's 2012 Euro qualifier against the Faroe Islands and is confident his man will deliver.
Italy's start has been viewed as stolid following a narrow 2-1 win over Estonia on Friday night. But, Abete's proviso is that Prandelli and the team need time to complete their rescue plan - one that is based on youth and experience.
"This is a different national team, we need to leave Prandelli with the time to work with young players and with tranquillity," the chief told the press.
"The maturation process is slower compared to some years ago, we need to allow the young players to remain young.
"There are players who are between 20 and 22 years old and it's right we give them time to mature.
"It's important for everyone to do well as a team. We knew before the World Cup we needed to reform and know how difficult it is to get results."
