Terry included in Chelsea squad for Sparta Prague tie
Demba Ba is cup-tied after representing Newcastle in the group stage and David Luiz serves a one-match suspension following three yellow cards in the Champions League
Chelsea captain John Terry has been included in squad set to face Sparta Prague in Thursday’s Europa League last-32 first leg.
The centre-back missed the 4-1 win over Wigan due to inflammation in his knee, but travelled with the 19-man squad to Czech Republic along with Gary Cahill who had to be withdrawn on Saturday.
Fellow defender David Luiz is forced to sit out the game at the Generali Arena after picking up three yellow cards during the team’s unsuccessful Champions League exploits, and will serve a one-match suspension.
Meanwhile, Demba Ba is cup-tied after featuring in the competition with former club Newcastle this season.
The striker will join both John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses in England, who have only recently returned to the club after helping Nigeria to Africa Cup of Nations success on Sunday, while Oriol Romeu remains out for the foreseeable after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
