Valencia coach Unai Emery has admitted it's a little unlucky that his side drew compatriots Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, but took solace in the fact that a Spanish outfit would make the semis.

“It's unfortunate that two Spanish teams have to face each other in the quarter-finals but it is also true that it ensures a representative of our league will be in the semis," he told Valencia's official website after today's draw.

Los Che edged past German side Werder Bremen on away goals following their thrilling 4-4 draw at Weserstadion last night while Atletico also emerged from the round-of-16 on away goals following their 2-2 draw in Portugal against Sporting CP.

“It’s a very even tie,” Emery continued. “It’s 50/50 really, similar to the one we played against Werder Bremen.

“Atletico are proving to be a good team and we'll have to work hard to overcome their challenge.”

Valencia host Atletico in the first-leg on April 1st and will face either Liverpool or Benfica in the semi-finals if they can get past los Colchoneros.
