Los Che set sights on final…

Valencia midfielder David Albelda has insisted his side will be motivated by something much bigger than revenge when they face Werder Bremen in the Europa League on Thursday.

Werder beat los Che twice in the 2004-05 UEFA Champions League group stage and Albelda admitted the draw did bring back some bad memories.

“Hearing the name Werder Bremen as our next opponents didn't exactly give us a good feeling because of how they knocked us out of the Champions League a few years back,” he told UEFA.com

“It's not going to be about revenge, partly because of the passage of time, but mostly because you learn to approach every knockout tie with the desire to win it and progress to the next round," he added.

Valencia overcame Club Brugge in the previous round and Albelda concluded by insisting his side would approach the match in the same way they did against the B elgians.

"We will play Bremen with the same sense of calm determination we had against Club Brugge in the last round. Valencia have footballing values and we'll try to impose them.”

“We have a great mentality for knockout football and I think we could go to the final again this year," he concluded.
