Alex own goal was the turning point - Ancelotti
The Paris Saint-Germain boss was left to rue his side's bad luck after they threw away a two-goal lead at Saint-Etienne on Sunday
Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti believes Alex's own goal in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Saint-Etienne proved to be the turning point in the game. The capital club had raced into an early 2-0 lead courtesy of Javier Pastore and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but their advantage was halved when the Brazilian turned the ball past his own keeper, sparking a comeback.
"This is football," he told reporters at his post-match press conference.
"The turning point was perhaps the goal that we conceded at the end of the first half. If we'd kept our 2-0 lead, the second half would have been much easier.
PSG saw title rivals Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille both dropped points this weekend, but Ancelotti feels his side still have some work to secure the Ligue 1 crown.
"ASSE have a lot of intensity. This is a decent result at this point in the season. The championship is not over. There are still many matches to go," he added.
The Parisians have a five-point lead at the top of the table going into the international break.
