Following his surprise departure from the Turkish giants, the 35-year-old has announced he would like to have his testimonial game played at the club's stadium.Former Fenerbahce captain Alex de Souza is facing life without the club, after his contract was terminated last week, although admits he still remains attached to the side he won three Super Lig trophies with.
After falling out with coach Aykut Kocaman over complaints the Brazilian made on Twitter, Alex failed to retain his first team place, resulting in the mutual termination of his deal in Turkey which was set to expire at the end of the season.
"We are responsible for things that happen to us. I admit that I've made some mistakes," conceded the 35-year-old, speaking at a press conference.
"The biggest one was to hurt my team sometimes. I misused Twitter. I've sent some messages and texts to some people. It would have been better if I haven't done so.
"They said I was demanding more money. In fact all I wanted was the equal distribution of bonus. These are my mistakes."
The Brazilian, who is now a free agent, spoke fondly of his time at the club and insisted he would not hold any grudges.
"For eight years I tried my hardest for the team, I don't know what the future holds but I can say this from the bottom of my heart, I will always be a Fenerbahce fan," he continued.
"I have no bad feelings towards anyone and hope Fenerbahce win the league and Europa League trophies. I have no problem with the chairman, he loves the club and his decision is always made with the club in mind.
"My playing career at Fenerbahce is over but as my last wish I'd like to play my testimonial game in Kadikoy [Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.]"
