The Spanish club announced the signing of Benfica's Argentine defender on a season-long temporary dealGetafe have made a late deadline day move to secure the services of Benfica defender Lisandro Lopez on a season-long loan.
The Portuguese giants signed Lopez from Arsenal de Sarandi this summer, but chose to send him away from the Estadio da Luz to gain first-team experience.
A statement released on Getafe's official club website read: "We have reached an agreement with Benfica for the transfer of Lisandro Lopez for 2013-14."
Getafe coach Luis Garcia Plaza will hope the Argentina international's arrival will help kickstart their Liga campaign, which has so far yielded a solitary point from their first three fixtures.
Earlier in the summer Lopez was linked with a host of top European clubs, but Benfica acted first to clinch the signature of the highly-rated defender.
