Ronaldo the best I played with - Cordoba
The former Colombia international remembers the Brazilian with great affection, ranking him above many of the world-class team-mates he shared a dressing room with
Inter team manager Ivan Cordoba has revealed that Ronaldo is the finest footballer that he ever played with. The former Brazil striker won almost 100 caps for the Selecao and played alongside Cordoba for the Nerazzurri as he flourished into one of the greats of the modern era.
"I will always say that the greatest player I ever had for a team-mate was Ronaldo," Cordoba told Inter TV.
"I played with many, many great players but he will always stand out to me.
"Even when considering my opponents, I would continue to name him, since we faced each other at international level."
The ex-Colombia international was then asked to compare Ronaldo with Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, but stated that it is impossible to assess players alongside one another from different eras.
"Was he better than Messi? They’re all different. I don’t think it’s possible to compare Maradona, Messi and Ronaldo because they’re all from different eras."
Cordoba retired from professional football at the end of last season before taking up his current backroom position during the summer.
