Subhash Bhowmick has replaced Sukhwinder Singh as the technical director of Churchill Brothers for the 2013-14 season. It must be noted the Bhowmick had guided the club to win their second I-League title however he wasn’t offered a contract this summer and neither was the gaffer interested in the job per say.
However following their worst start in the I-League, the club’s management have been forced to bring back Bhowmick in order to stabilize the team.
The former East Bengal coach has already been attending the training sessions and will travel to Pune with the squad for Churchill Brothers' next match against Pune FC on Saturday.
"Subhash Bhowmick is already here. He has joined practice. The rest I don't know," said Churchill head coach Mariano Dias.
On being queried as to what drove Sukhwinder Singh to part ways with the club, Dias responded, "Maybe because the team is not winning, so he decided to quit."
Bhowmick will be able to formalize his role with Churchill Brothers following a discussion with the Indian Football Association’s (IFA), the state football association for West Bengal, who had appointed him as their technical director this summer.
